Abercrombie & Fitch Reports November Sales Results

NEW ALBANY, Ohio, Dec. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Abercrombie & Fitch (NYSE: ANF) today reported net sales of $158.7 million for the four-week period ended November 30, 2002, a 4% increase over last year's November's sales of $152.7 million. November comparable store sales decreased (13)%.

Year-to-date, the Company reported a net sales increase of 16% to $1.220 billion from $1.051 billion last year. Comparable store sales decreased (7)% for the year-to-date period.

The Company said that it remains comfortable with its previously announced EPS guidance of $0.79 per diluted share for the fiscal fourth quarter.

A lifestyle brand, Abercrombie & Fitch operated a total of 593 stores at the end of fiscal November, including 166 abercrombie stores and 88 Hollister Co. stores. The Company also operates an e-commerce website at www.abercrombie.com , a kids' e-commerce website at www.abercrombiekids.com and publishes the A&F Quarterly.
