Abercrombie & Fitch Reports June Sales Results

NEW ALBANY, Ohio, Jul 11, 2002 /PRNewswire/ -- Abercrombie & Fitch (NYSE: ANF) today reported net sales of $117.7 million for the five-week period ended July 6, 2002, a 19% increase over last year's net sales of $99.3 million for June. June comparable store sales decreased 5%.

Year-to-date, the Company reported a net sales increase of 18% to $515.7 million from $436.8 million last year. Comparable stores sales decreased 6% for the year-to-date period.

A lifestyle brand, Abercrombie & Fitch operated a total of 517 stores at the end of fiscal June, including 155 abercrombie stores and 49 Hollister Co. stores. The Company also operates an e-commerce website at www.abercrombie.com , a kids' e-commerce website at www.abercrombiekids.com and publishes the A&F Quarterly.
