Abercrombie & Fitch Reports February Sales Results

NEW ALBANY, Ohio, March 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Abercrombie & Fitch (NYSE: ANF) today reported net sales of $120.6 million for the four-week period ended February 28, 2004, a 21% increase over last year's February sales of $100.0 million. February comparable store sales increased 1% compared with the four-week period ended March 1, 2003.

The Company said that based on February's results, it is comfortable with the first quarter EPS consensus estimates, which have recently increased to $0.27 per diluted share.

Abercrombie & Fitch operated a total of 703 stores at the end of February, including 171 abercrombie stores and 175 Hollister Co. stores. The Company operates e-commerce websites at www.abercrombie.com , www.abercrombiekids.com, and www.hollisterco.com .
